Low Light Practice

22 December 2017

Instructor: Eric Lamberson

Duration: 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Location: Bay Zero, Cedar Ridge Range; 7110 Farm to Market 1863; Bulverde, TX 78163 (830) 980-4424; www.cedarridgerange.com

Prerequisites: You must have attended a previous Low Light Class. This is a practice session that will include drills and a qualification or possibly a decision scenario as the participants desire.

If you have not attended a Low Light Class please do not sign up for this practice.

Equipment List:

-- For All Sessions: Please bring your own snacks, beverages, etc. Bring water; while we do provide water at all of our locations, it never hurts to bring some more. Insect repellent is appropriate for certain seasons or locations.

-- A good quality handgun, suitable for self-protection and/or concealed carry. You will be firing up to 300 rounds during this practice. It is a good idea to bring a spare pistol, if you have one, just in case your primary gun breaks. (It happens more than you think)

-- A good quality holster. You need a strong-side, belt or inside the waistband holster. For safety reasons, we do not allow the use of fanny packs, shoulder holsters, etc. on the range. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

-- A minimum of 3 magazines or speed loaders for your handgun and a magazine pouch/holder for at least 2 of your spare magazines or speed loaders.

-- A sturdy belt, to support the above. This is another area where you should not skimp—many people do. A good belt will serve you well as the night progresses.

-- Hearing protection

-- Eye protection. If you wear prescription lenses these are normally sufficient.

-- Cap with a bill or wide-brimmed hat

-- At least 200 rounds of decent quality, reliable ammunition. Range ammunition (FMJ, etc.) is fine. You may also wish to fire some of your premium self defense ammo during this practice to see how it performs in low light (muzzle flash, etc.). We do allow reloaded ammunition; however, for the safety of our instructors and participants, ANY problems with reloaded ammunition is grounds for that ammunition to be removed from the class. This is solely at the instructor’s discretion and is non-negotiable.

-- Clothing suitable for the weather and the range. If necessary, we will finish our range work in whatever conditions exist at class time, live-fire classes run rain or shine, mud may be involved.

-- Rain gear plus a jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt (evenings can be cold).

-- Firearm cleaning supplies plus any tools / lubricants that you might need.

-- A good hand-held Light. We will have a limited number of hand-held lights available for students to try and/or use. Even if you have a pistol-mounted light, you must master the use of a hand-held light as well.

Please note that the above list is just the essentials. You may bring additional items (such as a range bag, extra magazines, folding chairs and tables, etc.), if you choose.

If you have any questions, just ask.
