MAG 20 Live Fire -- Alumni Tune-up and Requalification

16 November 2019

Instructor: Eric Lamberson

Time: 1000 - 1400 (10:00 am - 2:00 pm)

Location: Cedar Ridge Range, San Antonio, Texas

Prerequisites: You MUST be a graduate of a previous MAG 20 Live Fire Course, MAG 40, or MAG 80 higher course. Proof of graduation and clean criminal record required--no exceptions.

This is a 4-hour tune-up/re-qualification for graduates of a MAG 20 Live Fire or higher level MAG course. We will review the MAG fundamentals, the draw from concealment, two-handed stances, shooting from cover, one-handed stances with either hand, speed reloading, address any individual issues, and finish with a single speed MAG 20 qualification. I will provide a score sheet to all participants and send a copy to Massad as a record of your updated qualification.

For those interested and as a separate event, I am also conducting a low light class on 16 Nov 19 from
1600 - 2200 (4:00 pm - 10:00 pm).

Equipment List:

-- For this class: Please bring your own snacks, beverages etc. Bring water; while we do provide water at all of our locations, it never hurts to bring some more. Sunscreen is also a must as well as insect repellent for certain seasons or locations.

-- A good quality handgun, suitable for self-protection and/or concealed carry. It is a good idea to bring a spare firearm, if you have one, just in case your primary gun breaks. (It happens more than you think)

-- A good quality holster. You need a strong-side, belt or inside the waistband holster. For safety reasons, we do not allow the use of cross draw holsters, fanny packs, shoulder holsters, etc. on the range. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

-- A minimum of 3 magazines or speed loaders for your handgun and a magazine pouch/holder for at least 2 of your spare magazines or speed loaders.

-- A sturdy belt, to support the above. This is another area where you should not skimp—many people do. A good belt will serve you well as the day progresses.

-- Hearing protection

--- Eye protection. If you wear prescription lenses these are normally sufficient.

-- Cap with a bill or wide-brimmed hat

-- At least 250 rounds of decent quality, reliable ammunition. Range ammunition (FMJ, etc.) is fine. You do not need to use premium self defense ammo for this course. We do allow reloaded ammunition; however, for the safety of our instructors and students, ANY problems with reloaded ammunition is grounds for that ammunition to be removed from the course. This is solely at the instructor’s discretion and is non-negotiable.

-- Clothing suitable for the weather and the range. If necessary, we will finish our range work in whatever conditions exist at class time, live-fire classes run rain or shine, mud may be involved.

-- Rain gear plus a light jacket, sweater or sweatshirt as appropriate.

-- Note taking materials. We do not allow audio or video recording of the class.

-- Firearm cleaning supplies plus any tools / lubricants that you might need.

Please note that the above list is just the essentials. You may bring additional items (such as a range bag, extra magazines, folding chairs, etc.), if you choose.

If you have any questions, just ask.
