Beginner Level Shooting Skills Tune Up

15 December 2018

Moderator: Eric Lamberson

Duration: 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Location: Cedar Ridge Range, 7110 Farm to Market 1863, Bulverde, TX; (830) 980-4424 ‎ ·

Prerequisites: Basic understanding of your pistol's operation, solid muzzle discipline, and safety awareness.

I do offer formal classes that can take your skills as far as you wish; however, this session is an opportunity for Short Range, steel, and IDPA shooters to tune their practical shooting skills.

In this tune up session we will cover basic shooting fundamentals, drawing, drawing from concealment, two-handed stances, reloading, and more as time permits.

This tune up is for someone at the beginner level—male or female. Everyone is welcome; however, I am limiting the number of participants to 12 so everyone can have some personal 1-on-1 attention and focus on the skill that they wish to improve. You must sign up in advance.

Equipment List:

-- Please bring your own beverages.

-- A good quality handgun, suitable for self-protection and/or concealed carry and approximately 100 rounds.

-- A good quality holster. You need a strong-side, belt or inside the waistband holster. For safety reasons, we do not allow the use of cross draw holsters, fanny packs, shoulder holsters, etc. on the range. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

-- A minimum of 3 magazines or speed loaders for your handgun and a magazine pouch/holder for at least 2 of your spare magazines or speed loaders.

-- A sturdy belt, to support the above. This is another area where you should not skimp—many people do. A good belt will serve you well.

-- Hearing protection

--- Eye protection. If you wear prescription lenses these are normally sufficient.

-- Cap with a bill or wide-brimmed hat

-- 150 rounds of decent quality, reliable ammunition range ammunition (FMJ, etc.).

-- Clothing suitable for the weather and the range.

-- Note taking materials if you wish—can be helpful.

-- Firearm cleaning supplies plus any tools / lubricants that you might need.
